The CERIC laboratory

centre for testing and research of chimney-related industries
(CERIC) is a laboratory for applied research in smoke evacuation.
It is independent of the production and has developed several
test procedures, which simulate the extreme working conditions
of the chimneys:
- thermal (temperature rise, insulation and thermal shocks)
- aeraulic (gas-tightness, watertightness to condensates and rain,
flow measurement, speed, capacity)
- mechanical (stability, compression, tension, impacts, etc.).
Research
and Development
The
Poujoulat Group is very aware that innovation is vital and invests
significant funds in research and development.
The Research and Development Department is based at CERIC and
enjoys the use of equipment which is unrivalled in Europe for
developing new technologies and improving existing products.
 Tests
and Standardisation
CERIC has produced the main test-beds necessary for classification
of products in accordance with the standards in force, whether
French (NF D 35 303, NF D 35 304, NF D 35 307, NF D 35 308), English
(BS 4543 Part 1, 2 &3), or German (DIN). CERIC carries out
monthly tests for the associated companies of the Poujoulat Group
as part of a sub-contracting agreement.
"Quality"
commitment
Since 1990, CERIC has operated a strict quality system. This commitment
is kept alive today by means of quality meetings, internal audits
and the ongoing training of personnel. It is also open to any
ideas which may improve the principle of quality, which has been
instituted.
This constant effort in favour of quality has been rewarded by
an ISO 9001:2000 Certification.
